However, RescueTime’s categories News, research sites and deflecting sites’ subdomains.
I can not use the Get Focused! Functionality for any Task which needs research (aka visiting a bunch of different websites).
Ironically, the time that I need smart blocking Performance is when I’m doing research for a post
There is a fine line between which really is effective and When I’m researching This really is distracting. It would be good to use RescueTime, but the classes aren’t true enough for it to operate.
The root issue is that the Block Sites function Is not available in reverse (ie, add specific sites to block). I can add websites to unblock.
And when I’m visiting several websites were blocked by dozen — Manually adding them becomes the time wasting.
If you are looking for an app that will block only Distracting sites — RescueTime is not it.
Effectiveness vs. Efficiency
RescueTime (or some time management software) Heightens the bias towards efficiency over effectiveness.
If you do the wrong thing for 18 hours Every Day, Daily with focus that is ideal — you are doing the wrong thing.
The most important factor in time management is to Work on the things that are right .
