There is no iOS app because the operating system prevents RescueTime from amassing the data it needs to perform its purpose. Those apps quietly and invisibly track which programs you use and which websites you visit, as well as the quantity of time you spend on them.

I love how RescueTime does Offline Time Tracking. Instead of having to search and put in it 100% manually, then you pick a time interval that’s unlogged and fill in the blank.
You can also customize the buttons to make logging Offline time easy and quick.
It is a feature but that Making it great. It’s simple, easy and well-done.
Pricing and Strategies
RescueTime provides two tiers of service: Lite (free) and Premium ($9 per month or $72 per year). Firms or organizations that want to use RescueTime across a group of people pay the same rate as Premium subscribers.

A Frequent problem with tracking apps of all types is That they always must be on. The”always on” feature can lead to performance problems on notebooks & desktop computers. It can induce battery issues .
But in my own experience, RescueTime causes neither. It is running from startup in also my Nexus 5x mobile phone, my Windows PC, and my Macbook Pro. I’ve never tracked any performance or battery life issues.
It is lightweight and well-built.
I enjoy the fact that the mobile app doesn’t demand Dozens of ridiculous permissions. It requires access but doesn’t attempt to monitor emails, contacts, location, or any of those privacy violating programs that are permissions ask for.
It’s quick to install and syncs using an internet dashboard. It crunches the data if you are on the Premium plan or from next day on the plan that is free, and pulls at precisely the period.

Disadvantages of RescueTime

Default Get Focused! Groups
In general, RescueTime’s classes good. Sites like Reddit, Facebook and Twitter are”Very Distracting”…for most people. And for general tracking, RescueTime’s categories are fast & simple to repair.
However, RescueTime’s classes can be off with overall News, deflecting sites and research sites’ subdomains.
I can not use the Get Focused! Functionality for any Task that needs research (aka visiting a bunch of different websites).
Ironically, the time I need smart blocking Functionality is when I am doing research for a post
There’s a fine line between which is effective and This is distracting when I am researching. It’d be good to use RescueTime, but the classes are not accurate enough for it to work.
The Main issue is the Block Sites function Is unavailable in reverse (ie, add certain sites to block). I am only able to add websites to unblock.
And when I am visiting dozen blocked websites — Manually adding them becomes time wasting.
If you are looking for an program that will block Specific distracting sites — RescueTime isn’t it.
Effectiveness vs. Efficiency
RescueTime (or some time management applications ) Heightens the bias towards efficiency over effectiveness.
If you do the wrong thing for 18 hours Every Day, Daily with focus that is perfect — you are still doing the wrong thing.
The most important Element in time management is to Work on the things that are right — the core 20 percent of time input which will generate 80% of your results.
And that. RescueTime Can not solve that issue.
In certain ways, in fact, RescueTime can damage your Attempts by pushing you towards doing over strategy, planning and research.
If effectiveness is the core issue, then RescueTime is not for you. It’ll only make matters worse.
I’d recommend reading a few of these books.
RescueTime has been an invaluable tool for me. It’s not for everyone and has disadvantages and some feature quirks.
That said, the thing is perspective. It’s easy to think that you just”work a ton” or are”not hooked on your telephone” or”invest as much time writing” or are”barely ever on Facebook.”
