It is well-built and lightweight.
I like the fact that the app doesn’t demand Dozens of permissions that are ridiculous. It requires access to usage data, but does not attempt to monitor emails, contacts, location, or any of the normal privacy violating other programs that are permissions request.
It’s quick to install and syncs with an online dashboard. It pulls in data from all sources and crunches on the information quickly if you’re on the Premium plan or from next day on the free plan.

Generally, RescueTime’s categories are fairly good. Sites like Reddit, Facebook and Twitter are”Very Distracting”…for most people. And for tracking, RescueTime’s categories are fast & easy to fix.
However, RescueTime’s categories News, research websites and sites’ subdomains.
I can not use the Get Focused! Performance for any Task that requires research (aka visiting a bunch of different websites).
Paradoxically, the time that I need smart obstructing Functionality is when I’m doing research for a post
There is a fine line between this really is productive and When I am researching, This really is distracting. It would be good to use RescueTime, but the categories are not true enough for it to operate.
The root problem is that the Block Sites function Is unavailable in reverse (ie, add certain sites to block). I can add websites to unblock.
And if I’m visiting several sites were blocked by dozen — Adding them becomes time wasting.
If you are looking for an app that will block just Specific sites — RescueTime isn’t it.
Effectiveness vs. Efficiency
